Breaking Burnout Cycles Rooted in Overwork and Expectation
Retreat Intention:
This healing retreat supports Black women in identifying and releasing internalised hustle culture, perfectionism, and over-responsibility. Together, we explore how historical, cultural, and personal expectations contribute to burnout—and how to return to a sense of wholeness that does not require constant proving, producing, or performing.
What You Can Expect:
Naming the roots of hustle culture in survival, oppression, and scarcity
Grieving rest that was never modelled or made accessible
Releasing guilt around slowing down, saying no, and choosing ease
Gentle movement and body awareness practices
Reconnecting to worth beyond productivity
Remembering the body’s natural rhythm and capacity for rest
Outcomes:
From productivity → presence
From over-functioning → self-trust
From exhaustion → balance
From expectation → authenticity
Healing Practices Include:
Guided reflection and journaling
Somatic awareness and gentle grounding practices
Boundary and energy-mapping exercises
Collective sharing and witnessing
Sound Therapy
Who This Is For
Black women who feel tired beyond sleep, who are ready to stop “pushing through,” and who desire a slower, more nourishing way of being—without guilt or fear of consequence.
Retreat Affirmation
